Correctional Education Libraries
CD ROM Initiative

The Correctional Education Libraries has produced the only innovative CD ROM program in the country available to teach prisoners preparing to re-enter their communities about the Internet. This CD ROM program was created by Glennor Shirley, Library Coordinator for MSDE’s Correctional Education Libraries, because she recognized that long term prisoners who return to society would have no knowledge of Internet use. The program is a simulation of what the Internet can do, and is designed for those with no knowledge or limited knowledge of the Internet. It is also used by some teachers as a teaching tool.

If you would like a complimentary copy of the CD ROM program please contact Glennor Shirley at gshirley@msde.state.md.us.
